2017 Children’s Summer Reading Program

Summertime is almost here!  At the library, we are getting ready for a fun-filled Summer Reading Program!  While most of the special events in our program are geared for children ages 3-12, we encourage younger children to participate.   It’s never too early to start reading to your child!

Check out the link below to learn more about the wonderful benefits of reading together from birth.

The theme for the 2017 Summer Reading Program is “Build a Better Word” which focuses on building, architecture and finding ways to improve our communities.

Registration for all events start Wednesday, June 21st from 1-7:30pm

More info to come in the beginning of June!

Children’s Book Donations

The 2017 Summer Reading Program will be here before you know it! We will be giving every child who registers for the program a free book to keep. If you have any new or like new children’s books that need a good home, please consider donating. We are taking books for children age birth to 12 years old. Thank you for your generosity!

Mad Science Dinosaur Workshop

Mad Science came by to host a Dinosaur Workshop at the library. Stations were set up for the kids to rotate to. There was a digging station, a sifting station, a Stegosaurus table and a table where the kids could identify the different toy dinosaurs.
“This program is funded in full or in part by a Coordinated Family and Community Engagement grant from the MA Department of Early Education and Care, which is administered by the Collaborative for Educational Services.”

Thank you as well to the Friends of the Library who helped fund part of this program!
